Clem & Clearlight

Clem & Clearlight is the second solo album from Clementine Moss to be released in 2025. Equal parts earthy and cosmic, the album was co-written with acclaimed guitarist Daniele Gottardo. The album is a genre-crossing journey through the heart’s landscape—soulful, cinematic, and spiritually charged.

From the raw vulnerability of “Hey Sweetheart” to the blues-driven sway of “Bar Broad Blues” to the dance pulse of “LT Blues" and the meditative swing of “Voice of Drum,” the record moves like a dream—shifting between moments of quiet intensity and bursts of radiant energy. Gottardo’s fluid, expressive guitar work is central to the album’s sound, weaving through each song with depth and nuance.

Moss is joined by keyboardist Jimi Marks (John Brothers Piano Company), who contributes songwriting chops on several songs, and Robert Preston on bass, rounding out a quartet whose musical chemistry feels both intuitive and intentional. At its core, Clem & Clearlight is a love letter to the in-between places—between genres, between emotions, between earth and sky.

Available on vinyl and for download May 30, 2025.

Clementine Moss - Nothing Will Keep Us Apart

Released at the beginning of 2025, Nothing Will Keep Us Apart is Clementine’s 7-song solo album. In these songs, she steps into a quiet, luminous new space. She offers something intimate here: a deeply personal collection of acoustic songs that feel like whispered prayers and letters never sent.

Anchored by her soulful voice and sparse arrangements with piano (William Cameron), bass (Robert Preston) and Clem on drums, the songs explore themes of presence, longing, spiritual growth, and the invisible threads that bind us. The atmospheres are spare but rich with feeling—drawing the listener into a sonic space that is raw, warm, and completely unguarded.

“Most of my songs are about love, both to the other and the divine. Where do we find light when so much feels dark? It’s only in love that we find freedom, difficult as it can be to hold fast to that truth. Addressing that difficulty is a favorite theme in this album.”

Recorded with honesty and minimal production, Nothing Will Keep Us Apart feels less like a performance and more like an offering—music as meditation, music as witness.

Drumming

Clementine is powerful, charismatic, and absolutely unforgettable.

A standout in the relatively small field of female drummers, her intensely passionate performance style has made her an instant favorite of audiences throughout the United States and Europe.

Often compared to Led Zeppelin's irreplaceable John Bonham, her drumming combines elements of rock monsters, Phil Rudd, Dale Crover, Dave Grohl, and the groovers, Levon Helm, Jim Keltner.  She is versatile and intuitive.  Once on stage, behind her kit, she is a Valkyrie, thunderous and commanding, emotive and tasteful.  And anyone who sees her play will never forget it.

In the studio, Clementine is a seasoned and sought-after player who helps bring the songwriter's rhythmic ideas to fruition. She lays down rock, funk, and pop beats that make for standout tracks.

Drummer, songwriter, vocalist.  But for Clementine it is drums first, always drums, forever drums.

SONGWRITING

Clementine is continually writing for Stars Turn Me On, her own solo songs, and other people's projects. For her own songs, she enlists some of the stellar players she has in her orbit to lay down guitar and other instrumental parts.

Clementine's songs marry unique visual images with simple language to create both singable lyrics and stories that cut to the heart. It has become her favorite past-time to write for other singers, channeling each artist's own individual perspective.

"Clementine's words rip with soul and spirit and are crafted with so much personality that you can't help but feel giddy when you read them, and in my case, sing them. You can instantly recognize a Clem lyric! But what's truly remarkable is that she creates those words specifically and uniquely for the artist that she's working for. Everything that she has written for me feels like a part of me and in many cases she has allowed me to express parts of myself that were hidden.Clem is truly magical!"  Mike Bemesderfer, vocalist and producer

The song "Cold Snap" from her debut album won second place in the Lyrics category of the 2008 International Songwriting Competition. You can read and hear it here.
